  1. I just want to thank all of you for the love you have shown my family. Lauren was blessed to have known you all. I am so grateful I had the honor of being her Mom for 28 years...her bright smile and "crinkling" nose when she laughed are forever etched in my mind. Her life journey has brought me many gifts. She taught me to love animals in a real way, to accept people, not judge...she taught me compassion and gentleness are the answer. Her nurturing spirit touched many lives I am learning.

I want to share with you the gift God and Lauren gave me days after I learned the news that she had passed away. I was up in her bedroom crying out to God, in despair and fear ...I needed to know God was with her, that God had her in His arms, and that I would see her again. I feared I would never really know that and how could I go on... I listened for God's gentle way, got up from the bed and there was a journal on the floor of her closet. I opened it and read this entry from Lauren:
    Dear God,
I want to start out by saying thank you for another day clean, I feel so blessed to have you back in my life. It felt good to go to church to praise and worship how wonderful you truly are. Thank you for sending your only son to come down to earth and die on the cross for my sins. I ask your son, Jesus Christ to be in my life and to forgive me for the sins I have done. Thank you for everything you have done in my life. You're and awesome God. In your loving and forgiving son's name, amen.

This entry, although over a year old reminded me of God's promise of salvation and I know what a sweet celebration it will be when we will all be together "in a little while". The enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy...but in the end God wins because of His mercy and love for us. He loves Lauren more than any of us could imagine. His word says:
Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans8:38
Thank you all for loving my daughter the way you did in her short life here...and I pray you hold tightly to God's promise, so we will all see her "in a little while"
